Hello Ruby!

Welcome back to my blog! Today we will learn about Hello Ruby and to use it to educate about computational thinking.  But first... What is Hello Ruby ? Hello Ruby is the world's most whimsical way to learn about computers, technology and programming. The story started with a book, and now Ruby continues her adventures in exercises, activities and videos. It’s suited for kids age 5 years and older (but even adults might learn something new). Here you have some examples of activities that you could use to teach computational thinking: https://www.helloruby.com/play/11  https://www.helloruby.com/play/2 https://s3.amazonaws.com/helloruby.com/loveletters/PDF+materials/Task+2.pdf Now, the one that I chose and I would practice with my kids its called: Computer Safari Spot a computer! List all the computers you see during the week. This game, will make kids interested about spotting computers around the week and making them think by  observation each one to see what the purpose of the u

FEELINGS AND HOW TO MANAGE THEM- BAAMBOOZLE

Hello! Welcome ones again to my blog.

In todays post I will be introducing you to a very good way of creating activities in classroom for our kids.

It is called: Baamboozle

Baamboozle is a game-based learning platform that brings engagement and fun to millions of players every year at school, at work, and at home.

In other words, it is a way to show flashcards to kids and interact to them in the classroom. You show them a picture and they have to answer. the teacher has the option to check the answer and then say if is correct or incorrect. It is very convenient because is really easy to use and also easy for kids to understand.

Here the link  yo our activity:

We found it on Google using the keywords:
LEARNING GAMES, PLATFORM

And when I saw Baamboozle I remember that I used to work with back in my old job with my kids (I was a teacher). I show them how to use it and we agreed that it is the perfect one for this exercise.
In this case, we used it to create a cool and didactic activity where we show our topic feelings with flashcards and the vocabulary words that we want to introduce or that we want to review with the kids.
We also created some flashcards explaining how to manage each feeling with different answers so they can give us their personal opinion as kids. They can also play in teams. This tool is very useful for didactic games and to transform your units in something fun.
